An 8 days bicycle tour to the islands of light. Paros a typical Cycladic island in the heart of the Archipelago with golden sandy beaches, ancient marble quarries and pristine landscapes. Antiparos, right across of Paros, with a fortified medieval habitat  preserved almost intactat,in the center of the unique village of the island. Naxos, island of Bacchus and Ariadne, is the larger of the Cyclades with a mountainous inland, which includes the higher pick of the Cycladic islands, yet with beautiful vast sandy coasts; beautiful landscapes and hidden treasures; it was one of the most important cities in of Ancient Greece and the center of the Venetian Duchy of the Archipelago in the Middle Ages.


Day 1: Welcome

Arrival in Athens (before 14h00). Transfer to the port of Piraeus. Ferry departure at 17h30, arrival in Paros at 21h45 (MO, WE, FR, SA direct) or at 22h30 (TU, TH, SU via Syros). Transfer to the hotel in Parikia, the island capital. 3 overnights.

Day 2: Paros. Cycling to the north of the island

We bike towards the ancient marble quarries of Marathi, where the famous Parian marble was extracted from underground galleries. Further biking to the inland village of Lefkes and walk through its traditional settlement. Through the village of Prodromos we join the east coast. Swimming on the sandy beach of Logaras. We continue our cycling tour towards Naousa; walk around the old fishing port of this picturesque village. We return to Parikia via an alternative road. In the evening we stroll through the traditional settlement to the little church of Konstantin and Helen on the hill of Kastro, where we can wait for the sunset, prior our dinner in a traditional tavern.

Day 3: Cycling on the south of Paros and the nearby island of Antiparos

Bicycle tour. We pass by the monastery of “Christos tou Dasous” (“Christ of the wood”), at 180m high, to reach the “Butterflies-valley” (open only during the summer). We continue towards Pounta, at the strait between Paros and Antiparos, to take the ferry to the nearby island. We bike along the peaceful coast in front of the islet of Despotiko on the south of the island and then to the cave of Antiparos, at 160m high. We return to the village of Antiparos, where the medieval fortified settlement remains intact. There are several beaches to choose for swimming. Late in the afternoon we take the boat back to Paros and Parikia.

Day 4: An early Christian church. Cycladic idols and archaic statues. Chora of Naxos

In the morning we can visit the Paleochristian church of Panagia Katapoliani and the archeological museum. Around noon we take the ferry towards Naxos (45min). After we settle to our hotel in Chora, the capital of Naxos, we go for an orientation walk in the traditional habitat. The castle was the seat of the dukes of Naxos during the Venetian period. The former Jesuit monastery houses the archaeological museum with its rich Cycladic idol collection. The best sunset view is from the Portara (“Great Door”), of the ruins of Apollo’s temple de. 3 overnights.

Day 5: Naxos - Cycling tour to the SW of the island

Bicycle tour. We cross a fertile plane near the Chora towards the archeological site of Iria, where a temple of Dionysus was excavated. Through the picturesque villages of Agios Arsenios and Tripodes we soon reach the highest point of the day (170m). After a long, panoramic downhill ride we reach the Bay of Aliko with its beautiful sandy beach, where we can swim. Along the west coast, we bike through Agia Anna back to Chora.

Day 6: Naxos- Cycling tour to the impressive inland of the island

Bicycle tour. On an asphalt road we arrive to Melanes. We continue on a narrow path till Flerio, where the ancient marble statue of a young man lies in a beautiful garden. We take the road that passes by the village of Kinidaros and its marble quarries, to reach the highest point for the day (480m). Near the village of Moni we visit the Byzantine church of Panagia Drossiani. On the plateau of Tragaea we can admire centennial olive trees and Venetian family towers in the villages. We pass by the village of Chalki, we cross a bizarre rocky landscape and on a hill we can see the ruins of the fortress of Epano Kastro. After traversing the villages of Potamia valley, we return to Chora.

Jour 7 : Return to Athens

In the morning we catch the ferry to Piraeus (departure from Naxos around 09h30, arrival to Piraeus at 15h00). Transfer to the hotel. In the afternoon free time to visit Athens. Overnight.

Day 8: Goodbye!

Farewell! Transfer to the airport.
